A Nest For Our Nest

We are so excited to finally own our very own Nest!

In case you are unfamiliar with with this fantastic product,
allow me to introduce you . . .

Nest, please meet Fine Reader.

Fine Reader, meet Nest.

Nest is a thermostat that learns your schedule and programs itself. A properly programmed thermostat can cut 20% or more off your heating and cooling bill. And it's pretty nice to have a thermostat that KNOWS when you are home and KNOWS when you are cold.

This little guy is even hooked up to our Wi-Fi, so we can control the temperature of our house while we are away. For instance, if we go on vacation, we obviously don't want our heater running and heating our house while we are away. So, we'd let our Nest know that we plan to be away until, say, Tuesday. Nest wouldn't heat our house until our return. But, what if we ended our trip early and decided to return on Monday? I wouldn't want to return to a freezing abode! Well, I'd just use my iPhone to connect with Nest and let her know that I would like her to make our house warm and toasty before my return. Yes, we are very happy with our Nest.

Plus, she's adorable!

She turns blue when she's cooling.

And red while she's heating.

And she doesn't light up until you approach her. Ahh, we're in love.

And no, we weren't paid or given any perks for going on and on about how much we love our Nest. We just wanted to share.
