Adventures in Spray Paint

While working on our dining room, we decided that we needed to add a bit more sparkle. Something simple . . . but shiny. We both love the look of old fashioned ceiling tiles, but didn't want to cover our ceiling with them. Plus, ceiling tiles can be very expensive. So, I bought a roll of textured, paintable wallpaper and some silver spray paint.

After allowing the paint to dry, I framed out my new "artwork" and hung the frames in our dining room. I must say that I am extremely happy with the finished project.
Couldn't resist showing you just a smidge of our unfinished dining room!

How about you? Any new projects that you've been working on? I know I'm not the only one who is a sucker for spray paint!

  1. I love this idea. The wallpaper would be great in other areas of your home too. Maybe you could line the interior of a cabinet or bookshelf or even drawers with it. No use letting the whole roll go to waste. For some reason I'm seeing the paper painted a pretty shade of blue.

Can't wait to see the dining room complete.

  3. I've decided to accent my front porch with red and orange details. I know that may sound a little iffy, but I think it works. So I am spray painting a little chair and a basket orange to put on the porch. We already have a large stained glass window hanging on the porch that has a red frame. I am also going to give our vintage wrought iron porch furniture a coat of white spray paint at some point this weekend.

  5. Hi Jen-

I have inhaled more spray paint in my years then any nornal person should, but it is the best for a quick redo. I do all my spray paining in my garage, and created a spray booth there as my husband was afraid I would spray paint his car one day. I don't like the color.
